When the Box Matters Just as Much as the Pie
It usually starts with a phone call. A baker, proud of what they’ve made, tells me their pies are arriving crushed, leaking, or just… looking wrong. Maybe it’s grease stains. Maybe the lid’s caved in. Or the branding? Barely there. One said to me once, “Our pies taste amazing, but they don’t look it by the time they reach the customer.”
That’s the moment I know they need proper pie packaging — not an off-the-shelf fix, but a box that’s built to carry the weight of what they’ve baked.
Meet Healey Packaging
We’re a UK-based team with decades of experience in custom food packaging. Healey Packaging was built for people like you — bakers, food start-ups, resellers — who want to protect their product, present it beautifully, and grow their brand through packaging that actually works.
Whether you’re a pie maker running a small-batch kitchen or a high-street name supplying frozen savouries across the UK, we know the standards you’re up against — delivery, hygiene, presentation, and most of all, trust.
The Right Pie Box Does More Than Just Hold a Pie
Let’s be honest: not all boxes are made equal. We’ve seen what happens when businesses try to pack a hot, buttery crust into a plain white carton. It collapses. Or worse — it leaks through. Our custom pie boxes are made for the real world: the courier drops, the market stall displays, the humid ovenside storage.
They’re food-safe, grease-resistant, and customisable from size to finish. But more than that? They’re made to reflect the care that went into the pie itself.
Materials and Custom Features That Work Hard
Every box starts with a proper conversation. You tell us what you’re packing — pork pies, lemon tarts, family-size meat pies — and how you’re delivering it.
We’ll guide you toward:
- Sturdy kraft or white SBS board, with grease-resistant linings
- FSC®-certified options for brands prioritising eco-responsibility
- Clear PET or biodegradable windows, so your product can speak for itself
- Custom depths, lock-tabs, vents, or inserts if you’re shipping multiple slices or deep-fill styles
We also offer digital and offset printing, depending on your volume and turnaround. You can go simple and rustic or bold and brand-forward — whatever fits your story.
Designed for Bakeries, Gifting Brands, and Food Resellers
We’ve worked with all sorts — from family-run bakeries in the Midlands, to gourmet food box subscriptions in London, to farm shops across Yorkshire.
Here’s what they tend to ask us:
“Will these boxes keep our pies fresh in transit?”
Yes — and they’ll hold up under pressure. No soggy bottoms here.
“Can I get a window and keep it recyclable?”
Absolutely. We use eco-film alternatives that maintain visibility without compromising on your values.
“We’re just trialling pies right now. Can I order in small quantities?”
You can start with as little as 100 boxes. No minimum that breaks the bank.
What This Means for Your Business?
Great packaging isn’t just about protection. It’s about reputation. The box tells your customer everything before they even take a bite. With our boxes, you’re not just delivering pie — you’re delivering pride, professionalism, and a reason to reorder.

Let’s Talk About Your Pies
You’ve already done the hard bit — making something people love. Now it’s just about finding a box that does it justice. If you’ve got a size in mind, or even just an idea of how you’d like your packaging to look, send it over. Doesn’t have to be perfect — a sketch, a photo, a quick note — we’ll take it from there.
We’re always happy to talk things through. No pressure, no sales nonsense. Just proper advice, straight from people who’ve seen what works (and what really doesn’t).
Need a sample? Want to see some options? Or just curious about pricing?

Got Questions? Let’s Clear a Few Things Up
Can you make boxes for any pie size?
Pretty much, yes. Whether you’re baking little 4-inch sweet pies or big deep-fill ones for family dinners, we can sort the size. Just tell us the diameter, height, or even just “it’s like a Tesco pork pie” — we’ve heard it all and we’ll figure it out with you.
Are these boxes actually food-safe?
They are — we wouldn’t sell them if they weren’t. Everything’s made using food-grade board and inks, and if your pies are still warm when packed or stored in the fridge, we’ll suggest the right coating or liner so nothing leaks or warps.
Can I add a window to show the pie inside?
Absolutely. We offer clear windows using either standard PET or eco-friendly biodegradable film. We can customise the shape too — circles, hearts, brand cut-outs, whatever suits your style.
Do I need to order thousands?
There’s no minimum order quantity — perfect if you’re trialling a new product, launching a limited range, or testing new branding. We scale up easily if you need larger quantities later.
Do you offer design help or artwork support?
Yes. If you’ve already got artwork, we’ll prepare a digital proof before printing. If not, we can help you lay out your logo, colours, and text to fit the dieline properly — free of charge.
How long will it take to get my boxes?
Usually about a week to 10 working days after we’ve sorted your artwork. If you’re in a rush, let us know — we’ve pulled off quicker jobs when needed. We know bakery schedules don’t wait around.
