SBS Board
Smooth white board for premium printed retail packaging.
A bottle label has to fit the container, stay readable and hold up in use. Personalised bottle labels can be made for glass or plastic bottles in sizes from 5ml to 500ml.
Product details
A design can look perfect on a computer screen and still cause problems once it is applied. Bottles curve. Some taper towards the neck. Others have raised seams, textured surfaces or very little straight-sided space for a label. These details affect the usable label area.
Before bottle label printing begins, it helps to check the container diameter, straight-wall height and the position where the label will sit. Getting those measurements right can prevent lifting edges, overlapping labels and artwork that appears off-centre.
A 5ml or 10ml bottle gives the designer very little space. The brand name, product information and any required text still need to remain readable. Move up to 30ml, 50ml or 60ml bottles and there is more flexibility, but the shape of the container continues to affect the final dimensions.
Larger 100ml, 200ml, 250ml and 500ml bottles can carry bigger labels, yet an oversized design may wrinkle or become difficult to apply. There is no universal bottle label size. The container should be measured before the artwork is finalised—exactly how custom labels and stickers for bottles are produced.
A paper label that works on a dry shelf? May not suit a refrigerated drink. Water bottle labels face condensation, ice buckets, repeated handling.
Cosmetic and skincare products? Different problems. Oils, lotions, wet bathrooms — all affect unsuitable label stocks and adhesives.
Waterproof labels for bottles can be made with appropriate materials and finishes when moisture resistance is needed. The application conditions should guide the spec.
Sometimes the bottle itself is part of the presentation. Glass drinks, cosmetic oils, premium beverages — good examples.
Transparent labels for bottles let more of the container and contents show through — while still carrying branding and product info.
Artwork needs careful prep — especially for white ink or strong colour on clear material. A printed sample helps before committing to a large run.
Wine bottle labels, water labels and other beverage bottle labels are handled, chilled, stored and transported before purchase. The label needs to stay attached and remain presentable throughout that journey.
Material choice, adhesive performance and print protection should be considered together. The front label may carry the main branding, while back labels, bottle top labels or custom bottle neck labels provide extra room for product information, promotions or security features.
A skincare company may sell the same formula in 30ml, 100ml and 250ml bottles. Simply enlarging or reducing one artwork file rarely gives the best result. Text becomes too small. Logos change proportion. Important information moves too close to the cut line.
Cosmetic bottle label printing works better when each size is prepared for the actual container while keeping colours, typography and brand elements consistent across the range. This gives the collection a more uniform appearance on shelves and product photographs.
A small business applying labels by hand has different production requirements from a filling company running bottles through automated equipment. Roll direction, label spacing, core size and unwind orientation can matter when machine bottle labelling is involved.
For manual application, an easy-to-handle sheet or roll format may be more practical. Knowing how the labels will be applied before production can prevent unnecessary delays when the finished order reaches the packing line.
Bottle label paper is available in many finishes, including uncoated, coated and textured stocks. Film materials may be considered where moisture resistance, transparency or additional durability is required. The choice can also affect recycling.
Whether bottle labels are recyclable depends on the face material, adhesive, bottle substrate and the recycling process involved. It is better to assess the complete packaging system than make a broad claim based on the label alone. Healey Packaging can discuss material options according to the intended bottle, application conditions and sustainability objectives.
Businesses rarely print one label once. New fragrances appear. Bottle sizes change. Seasonal products are introduced. Existing lines need to be reordered. Accurate colour reproduction, cutting and production records matter when a product range grows.
Healey Packaging has supported thousands of packaging and print projects across beverages, cosmetics, retail and ecommerce, giving businesses a reliable route from initial artwork and sampling through to repeat production.
Healey Packaging produces personalised bottle labels for brands, retailers, manufacturers and packaging resellers across the UK.
Need small bottle labels for 5ml samples? Glass bottle label printing for beverages? Clear labels for cosmetic oils? Several sizes for one product collection?
We work from the bottle dimensions, surface, storage conditions, application method and artwork before recommending the label specification. The result is a label made for the product it will actually be applied to.
