SBS Board
Smooth white board for premium printed retail packaging.
Glass carrier packaging uses an integrated handle and internal separation to keep bottles or glass containers organised in one portable pack, making multi-item handling easier for retail, gifting and beverage applications.
Product details
A glass carrier is a handled carton designed to hold multiple bottles, jars or similar containers in separate positions within one pack. Internal dividers help limit direct glass-to-glass contact, while the carrying section allows the complete pack to be lifted and transported together.
Unlike a standard folding carton, the carrier structure needs to manage product separation, packed weight and handle load at the same time. You can compare it with other carrier, partition and locking structures in our packaging box styles library.
Glass carriers are useful when several containers need to stay organised while being carried or presented as one unit.
Common applications include:
A wine glass carrier or bottle carrier must be designed around the actual container dimensions. Bottle diameter, height, shoulder profile and packed weight all affect the internal layout.
A glass carrier box can use partitions to create individual compartments so neighbouring containers do not sit directly against each other. For straightforward cell separation, custom fence partitions use intersecting strips to form a grid. Where products need more defined positioning, a punch partition uses die-cut openings to locate containers at specific points.
The partition layout should restrict unnecessary lateral movement without making bottles difficult to insert or remove. Partitions reduce contact and movement, but they are not automatically sufficient cushioning for fragile glass in every distribution environment. Transit requirements should be assessed separately.
The number is determined by product dimensions, weight and the required arrangement rather than a fixed carrier format. Custom glass carrier boxes can be developed for small multipacks or larger grouped configurations where the board and structure are suitable.
Before selecting the layout, confirm:
For products sold as a presentation set rather than carried by an integrated handle, double wall tray lid boxes may provide a more appropriate tray-and-lid format.
When customers lift the pack, the handle area carries the combined weight of every container inside it. Handle design is therefore structural, not simply decorative. The specification should consider the aperture size, board grade, material remaining around the cut-out and how evenly the product weight is distributed beneath it.
A sample of cardboard glass carriers should ideally be tested with the intended filled containers. This can reveal excessive handle flex, poor balance or movement that may not be obvious from a dieline alone. If you need handled packaging for lighter food products rather than bottles or glass containers, handle food boxes provide a useful alternative structure to compare.
The carrier, partitions and products should be treated as one packaging system. Check the actual filled weight rather than empty-container weight, especially for liquids. Also confirm whether the outer carton will serve only as a retail carrier or will travel through a wider distribution network requiring additional transit protection. For bottled food or beverage products, any material that may contact the contents or primary container should also be specified for its intended use.

It is a handled carton designed to organise and carry multiple bottles, jars or other glass containers within one pack.
They can. Internal partitions are commonly used where individual containers need separation.
Yes. The outer dimensions, compartments and handle can be developed around the actual containers.
Suitability depends on total filled weight, board specification, handle design and carrier dimensions. Load testing is recommended.
Many paperboard carrier structures can be supplied flat or collapsed for storage, depending on the selected construction and partition arrangement.
